about

This is a song I started writing initially as a template to learn how to create a full-band recording, but eventually turned into a song I'm very proud of about something that means a lot to me. I hope you enjoy!

lyrics

I wonder how I look through your lenses, do I look as confused as I am?
At first I thought you were onboard, but then you fell off instead
And I'm trying to mind my business, trying to be realistic
But I'm coming up feeling unresolved, unraveled and dissolved

So let's strike up a deal, sign your name on the dotted line so I know it's real; a written display to make up for all the things you couldn't say.
An initial or two to make up for all the things that you wouldn't do.
And you can hide behind a cough, but I'm getting kind of sick of it.

I feel like I'm running out of ways to ask you if you feel the same as I do, and value all we've been through.
And I'm always overthinking, forgetting you by drinking, as if that ever helps at all.

So let's step back and look at the mess you've made for me.
I'll fade into my routine as usual, relinquish my rights to think and speak.
Confusing flirtation with common courtesy

So let's strike up a deal, I'll sit here and hope that one day you'll know how I feel, a hopeless plea that one day you'll come to terms with it and see - that I can hide behind this song, but you won't leave my mind at all.
